OUR FIRST TROPHY!

The week of July 16-20, 2012 the Explorer post attended the 2012 National Law Enforcement Exploring Competition at Fort Collins, Colorado.  During the week the Explorers competed in competitions against about 2000 other Explorers.  Specifically we competed in Domestic Crisis Response, Bomb Threat Response, Traffic Stop, Hostage Negotiations, Officer Down/First Aid Response and Burglary in Progress.  The Explorers also participated in the physical agility course, the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) and a volleyball competition.

The Explorers once again came home with another award.  Explorer Captain Dustin Waas and Lieutenant Trevor Mallon competed in the Officer Down/First Aid Response competition and received a 3rd place trophy.  They finished with a perfect score and tied with three other teams but they had the third best times in which they completed the scenario.  Considering they only had a two person team and the others had four person teams, they did very well.

The Explorers also got a 99% in the Domestic Crisis Response and a 91% on their Traffic Stop.  Unfortunately the competition is quite competitive and they did not place in those.

Also while in Colorado the Explorers were able to get a glimpse of life at the Colorado State University and even took a trip into the mountains to Rocky Mountain National Park.  There was beautiful scenery out there, however not much wildlife was seen.

Congratulations to all of the Explorers who competed!  Excellent job was done by all!!
