Services and Functions

The Dodge County District Attorney’s Office is responsible for the prosecution of criminal cases in Dodge county. A criminal case is punishable by fine, imprisonment, or both. Additionally, the District Attorney’s Office prosecutes State violations of the traffic code within the county. Further, the District Attorney’s Office represents certain State agencies in local actions including the Department of Workforce Development, Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Corrections. Lastly, the District Attorney’s Office represents the State in juvenile delinquency petitions.

The Dodge County District Attorney's Office was the first in Wisconsin to become “paperless” in 2009, and continues to serve as the model for other counties making this transition.  The office was also the first in the State to pilot criminal e-filing in Wisconsin Circuit Courts working with CCAP to develop and implement a secure computer interface to do so.
