USE CAUTION - WILD GOOSE STATE TRAIL
Due to numerous trees and branches down on the Wild Goose State Trail the area between Swan Road and Island may be impassable.  Areas south of Swan Road and north of Island Road are passable.  Majority of horse trail is impassable.

Wild Goose State Trail - Map

Wild Goose State Trail links the City of Juneau - "Gateway to the Wild Goose Trail" and the City of Fond du Lac. This 34 mile compacted limestone trail on an abandoned railroad grade traverses oak woodlots, fertile farm fields, prairie remnants and sparkling streams as it runs through the rural country sides of Dodge and Fond du Lac Counties and skirts the western edge of the internationally known Horicon Marsh National Wildlife Refuge. Wildlife, scenery and level surface provide safe, easy and enjoyable biking and hiking for all ages. Parking and trail access available at the southern trail head at Hwy 60 and the northern trail head on Rolling Meadows Drive in Fond du Lac and numerous points between. County and private campgrounds located nearby. A separate horse trail tread runs north from Hwy 60 about 14 miles. The trail can be opened for snowmobile and ATV use in winter.  Camping on the trail is not permitted.  Camping options available nearby - please see locations.

Notice:  The trail borders the Juneau Rod & Gun Club about 1/4 mile north of the Hwy 60 trailhead.  Trail users could experience loud gun fire at times when passing this location.

Trail Uses
Bicycling - Walking - Hiking - Jogging and Cross-Country Skiing are permitted year round on the main trail. The horse trail is recommended for cross-country skiing when snowmobile and ATV trail is open.

Horseback Riding is permitted year round on the separate horse trail in Dodge County. The trail runs from HWY 60 to Pautsch Road, in Dodge County. Horses are not permitted on any portion of the limestone surfaced trail except at designated horse trail crossings.
