All copies and certification are on a pre-pay basis only.

How can a request for records be submitted?
Please call 920-386-3570 if you are unsure of how many pages a document is. Once you know how much it will cost you must make the request by mail at:

You must enclose a check or money order for the copies and certification. You must also enclose a letter stating your request and a self addressed, stamped envelope.
OR
You may come to the Clerk of Courts during regular hours of operation and they will make any copies you request.
Note: No phone requests are accepted.
Can records be retrieved on-line?
We have an index of records on-line at wcca.wicourts.gov, but it is not all-inclusive. Most civil/family cases (indexes of) are on-line for cases filed in the 1990's and forward.
Information required when submitting a request for a background check
If a case number is not provided, the cost to conduct a background search on an individual or company is $5.00 per name searched pursuant to WI Statute 814.61(11).
If a background search is being requested, the full name and date of birth of the individual should be provided. The full name of a company should be provided.
For criminal searches, the date of birth for the individual is requested, if known.
If you are seeking copies from a case, specify what specific documents you are requesting. Provide case number(s), if known (i.e., Judgment of Conviction in 92CF12, etc.)
If possible, please include a telephone number where we can reach you in the event we need clarification on a request. An email address is fine if you can be reached in that manner.
We try to send results out as quickly as possible. The normal turnaround time is one to four business days. The time can vary because of volume, payment issues, and the need to retrieve stored records.
Unless sealed by the court or otherwise confidential by law, Circuit Court files and documents are open for public inspection at no cost. Records can be viewed during normal business hours in the Clerk of Court Office. Many Circuit Court files are available in hard copy, while other files are available on microfilm. Types of cases typically found in the Clerk’s Office include: civil, criminal, family, paternity, juvenile, small claims, traffic, forfeiture ordinance, and a variety of liens.
